Burge and his family have been around wine and winemaking for five generations, so in Grant's time, he's seen a fair bit of Merlot. Grant always manages to get a bit extra out of his grapes for a red that is soft, fleshy and plush with ripe fruit flavours and that so-easy-to-drink smooth texture that the best Merlot wines possess. We lined up a couple of different pasta dishes, a bit of lamb, a hamburger and a roast and reckon the wine was spot on for the lot. Burp.

Soft, fleshy, plush merlot: a fantastic all-rounder, Merlot is often overlooked but really it should be your personal mission to change that.. mega easy-drinking that goes with all your favourite meals
