| Winery Information: Balthazar was the last of the Babylonian Kings,
who incurred God's wrath by ordering the drinking of wine out of holy
silver and gold chalices. Legend dictates that while Balthazar, his
wives and concubines feasted and drank wine, the Persians invaded,
bringing an end to Babylonian rule. Anita Bowen created Balthazar of the Barossa in 1998 having studied and worked across Australia and New Zealand. Her first vintage was in Mudgee, NSW, in 1986, before
subsequent vintage moves to McLaren Vale and then the Barossa Valley in |
