Grant Burge Batch 01 Barossa Shiraz 2012 Dozen
Reasons to buy
New vintage of all time top seller!
It's wrong to take pleasure in the misfortunes of others, but when you can bathe your guilt in booze as good as this, you feel a whole lot better.
This is another one of those 'their loss is your gain' situations, an export only label all packed up and ready to go when at the last minute the deal's suddenly off.
But rarely is the booty this good.
Batch 01 is a wine our mate Burgey makes exclusively for the UK and having tasted it we reckon the man should be strung up by his baby-maker for shipping it all off to the Poms.
Not that the wines we get here are shabby – we all know how good they are - but this stuff is simply amazing and now that it's fallen into our hands we want to make sure as many of you get a chance to try it as possible.
This is benchmark Barossa Shiraz, the kind of stuff that extracts multiple pineapples from your wallet and you're happy to see them go.
We don't know when we'll ever see another parcel of this stuff again, so do as we're doing and snap some up while you can.
The Bottom Line:
- FREE DELIVERY!
- All-time TOP TOP seller is bringing forward their Newest Vintage! This stuff sells like hotcakes so don't delay...
- Don't take our word for it... Check out the Ratings and Reviews tab on the 2011 vintage and see what your fellow WineMarketeers are saying
- SAVE OVER $200 a case. That's over 60% off!
- Yet another incredible Barossa Shiraz from our man Burge - one of our all time sell-out favourites
- A little more luxury in this top quality Burge drop compared to say the Batch 28 Shiraz, this one's all Barossa fruit, so no reason not to pick up a case of both
- Burgey's best Batch fails to despatch! Cancelled Export to the UK... at least there's one bonus to the crisis
- 5 STAR Halliday rated winery
- Limited cases at this hotttt price
French & American for 12 months
Middle Eastern flavours such as lamb shish kebabs or a Moroccan tangine
The 2011 Barossa Shiraz is intense red with bright purple hues.
This full bodied Shiraz has aromas of dark berries, plum, rich fruit cake and spicy black pepper. The generous and round palate is complemented by fine grained tannins and a long finish.
The fruit was crushed and de-stemmed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks for seven days. Temperatures peaked at 26º C early in the fermentation, then brought down to 22º C, and pumped over three times a day. Free run and pressings were combined for added colour and structure, the wine was then matured in a combination of American and French oak for 12 months.
Batch 1 wines express the true flavours and characters of the Barossa Valley. Special ‘Batches’ of fruit are selected to produce wines that are full flavoured, fruit driven and well balanced ready for you to enjoy.
Grant Burge is located in the heart of the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Family owned (and proud of it), Grant Burge was formed in 1988 by fifth generation vigneron and winemaker. The Burge family has been in the Barossa since 1855, and Grant continues on the family tradition whilst bringing his winemaking techniques into the 21st century.

Good value drop. Great with a rare steak.
An excellent wine.
I may purchase another dozen.
Great taste, and one of the few red wines not to give me headache after 2 glasses. Have bought 4 dozen previously, and will buy more while its available at this price. Highly recommended.
Not a bad wine , Ok for a mid afternoon drink, quaffable but a more serious wine for the dinner table needed. we prefer a wine with more boldness , richness and deepness, RATING 3
This is a very drinkable drop. I found it good value for the price.
I'm no wine expert but I've certainly tasted much better than this even in the budget price range.
Never disappointed with this drop. Have bought around 6 cases in the last couple of years and will continue to buy at this price.
A good drop.
Smooth, mellow with a touch of spice. Good red meat accompaniment!
Absolutely beautiful wine, perfect anytime or for that rainy night indoors. I want to give it to friends to enjoy but also would like to make it last, will definitely order more.
Good value for money - after breathing it is flavoursome, smooth, has good legs but is young. May improve with age.
GRANT BURGE ALWAYS RELIABLE EASY DRINKING AT THIS PRICE
MAYBE 3.5 IS A BETTER SCORE
Grant Burge's Shiraz 2012 is consistent performer for the palate. It's a a solid, round and pleasing drop that never disappoints. I buy it because I Know its aesthetic value on the tongue and its reasonably priced.
From the beginning I opened it, a strong ,deep smell quickly flies into my nose and the sweetness , fruity aromon was so strong.
It was an unresistable loving Shiraz , certainly rated 5 and can't wait to share with friends.
Thanks and best regards.
We are enjoying this red wine. Easy to drink great balance on the palate, a great wine to enjoy with a good meal and of course a great price from a good company who have been awesome to deal with. Thanks
Just got a case of this great wine last week. Already drank 4 bottles .... excellent wine for the price ... goes with most winter fare... and you just feel like having another glass ...
Great Barossa Shiraz at a really reasonable price, thoroughly enjoyed past vintages and this one is just as good. Definitely rate this at 5 points, if you haven't tried it before, give it a go !!
Good drinking now and great value for money. Grant Burge is one of those brands you can always trust for consistency.
No wonder this is number 1. A very tasty full bodied wine with lots of various tastes that hit the palate. A nice spicy finish lingers just long enough to ensure you cannot wait too long for the next glass.
Thank you Wine tastes very nice. Good price when on special. Free / cheap delivery is great! 3.5 rating
This wine is a no brainer, easy drinking. But if you are after flavour, skip this bottle. I pull this bottle out when I have guests over that do not fully appreciate wine. There is a hint. I will buy again when the price is lower.
Overall pretty good although there was a bit of variation between bottles - a couple have been distinctly different to others, being slightly duller and lacking in fullness. Not sure how or why this could happen.
Excellent drop, excellent friendly and efficient service. thank you guys. I definitely did not water the garden, I am enjoying watering me!!!Thank YOU!!
Tried it as part of a mixed dozen and was rapped. Bought a dozen and the first 2 bottles have not come up to my expectations so at this stage, I am extremely disappointed.
This Shiraz is a BANG for BUCKS wine.A red you can drink everyday or take out & know that you have a decent wine.Don't think you can beat it for price!
