D'arenberg The Dry Dam Riesling 2015 (12 Bottles)
Famous d’Arenberg, Famous Riesling…
A 95 Point Riesling that''ll only get better with age!
From Mr Halliday himself:
"An utterly impressive wine from a winery best known for its flotilla of red wines; its fruit has the juicy flavour and mouthfeel of the kind expected of a dry Mosel riesling; the intensity of the fruit is heightened by the crisp, crunchy acidity on the finish and aftertaste. The Dry Dam name is an anachronism."
- 95 Points.
The Bottom Line
- From d'Arenberg - one of Australia's First Families of Wine
- 95 Points – James Halliday
- About as far from the stereotypically syrupy sweet Riesling as you can get>/li>
In 1992 our neighbours built a dam that remained empty, as it was a dry winter. The next year it rained but the dam was jinxed and didn't hold water. A dry dam is bad news for our neighbouring farmers, but promises good results for our old, dry-grown, low-yielding vines.
The Dry Dam Riesling is a little sweeter than dry due to its residual sugar content but a very drinkable wine just the same.
Full of flavour, beautiful full palate, beautiful in the middle, lime and lemon & dry and beautiful long finish. My favourite at the moment. i will always buy this wine now. Seafood or asian or just on its own. Makes your mouth feel just right. You have to wait for the right price to come your way. I bought this for a steal.
You'll love these too, have a look!
