Brokenwood Harlequin Shiraz 2013 (12 Bottles)
Brokenwood Shiraz – One of Australia’s Biggest Names In Red
In a who’s who of Aussie Shiraz you don’t have to take many steps to find Brokenwood. Penfolds Grange, Henschke Hill of Grace, Brokenwood Graveyard. That’s the kind of company we’re talking about with these Hunter Valley stalwarts. And you certainly don’t have to shell out that big-league kind of money to taste the proof of quality we’re talking about. The Harlequin is a Hunter Valley-souled Shiraz with breeding way above its asking price.
The Bottom Line
- Hunter Valley fruit backed by premium parcels from other top regions
- From the makers of the revered “Graveyard” Shiraz
- $15 per bottle
You know how we bang on about the Numero Uno palate in Australian wine, that belonging to a certain Mr James Halliday? Well in 1971, he was one of the three founders of Brokenwood. It’s hard to beat that kind of pedigree, but the wines speak for themselves: you’ll rarely hear about Halliday’s initial involvement in this Hunter Valley venture, but their new vintages continue to adorn the early pages of any annual wine guide.
A blend of premium Shiraz parcels from the Hunter, Orange, Beechworth, and Gundagai, this is a juicy middle-weight that’ll seriously satisfy.
You'll love these too, have a look!
