Wynn's have been making this bog-standard estate shiraz (the Grey Label) seemingly forever. Always a consistent good value staple (ie often found discounted like here at WineMarket) this vintage has taken it to another level. I've been drinking it for 20 years and never had a better one .... luscious and velvety, it tastes like something expensive! And it's got a good cellar life ahead of it so is likely to get even better. For Australia's foremost wine critic, James Halliday, it falls into his highest rating range (94-100 "Outstanding. Wines of the highest quality"). He thinks this is one of Wynn's best ever. I suggest you go for it.
Wow, what a bargain! Medium bodied with abundance with fruits. It has long lingering finish. I loved it.
Great value drinking. Full flavored shiraz, deep crimson colour, great length of palate
Lucky enough to pick this up at bargain basement price. To good to be true.Great nose, colour, and just enough pepper..Don't care what it goes with as it's great on it's own. However a good Stilton & Salada crackers to finish the bottle after a lamb roast in the Weber is just a little hard to beat.
At winemarket special prices this is a great value wine.I would recommend this to a friend!
This wine is BIG. BIG on fruit. BIG on spice. It's a mouthful by all means. It's a young elephant. Clumsy, yet adorable....This is not a negative... It is not harsh, but rather silky in texture and pleasing to taste. BBQ ribs, hearty stews and blue cheese are in order here!!!!
A medal winning drop at a great price. A complex shiraz with good peppery flavour that I'm always happy to present to dinner guests. Great with a perfectly cooked steak but solid enough to complement a nice beef bourguignon as well.
