Wynns Coonawarra Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2011 Dozen
Reasons to buy
Wynns Coonawarra Cab Shiraz Merlot
All good things come to those who wait. Here we have one of our top sellers from Wynns returning to an email deal especially for you.
Wynns have the goods — the kind of pedigree wine producers dream of, and they have a long history of creating wines of quality and distinction from their older vineyards in Coonawarra. Their winemaking boss Sue Hodder is one of Australia's most celebrated winemakers, and there's no detail missed in this 2011 version of the wine.
We've always loved the easy drinking appeal of the Wynns Cabernet Shiraz Merlot — great ripe fruit flavours, mellow texture, a touch of spice and just enough tannin to know that this is a serious wine, but without overdoing anything. It's superb, seamlessly textured and really pleasing, but even better is that Wynn's have leapt into bed with us on this deal.
Having hit most retail shelves at around $299 — we've been a little more seductive and charming and managed to eke out a deal that will see this wine in your home for much less!
Don't look before you leap on this deal, just leap before it’s all gone.
The Bottom Line:
- Don't pay

One of Australia’s best-known winemakers, Sue Hodder is the Senior Winemaker at Wynns Coonawarra Estate in South Australia’s Coonawarra region. She has just completed her 16th vintage at Wynns.
Graduating in 1984 with qualifications in both Agricultural Science and Winemaking, from Roseworthy (now part of the University of Adelaide), Sue commenced her career in viticulture. Initially working for Penfolds in the Barossa Valley assessing vineyards for the iconic Penfolds labels.
Sue went to Wynns Coonawarra Estate for the 1993 vintage, and has remained. In 1998 she took over the reins from former Chief Winemaker, Peter Douglas. "I am well aware of the responsibility I have for maintaining the quality of a range of wines that represent Coonawarra as a region as much as they represent Wynns and I am the custodian of a great winemaking tradition," she said.
Intense, full spectrum of black fruits and spice, integrated toasty oak
Rich black berry fruits make the palate luscious and fruit filled. Subtle savoury Cabernet notes provide structure and a balanced line of acid that runs the length of the palate. Complex, balanced and youthful.
Typically a rich and complex wine with enhanced softness derived from the blending of these three classic red grape varieties. Soft fruit plus judicious oak handling have created a wine perfect for current drinking or short-term cellaring.
Wynns Coonawarra Estate, under Sue Hodder who has been Chief Winemaker since 1998, produces six wines every year. In vintages where the quality of grapes is exceptional, two flagship reds are made, the John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Michael Shiraz.
Cheif Winemaker, Sue, has worked in Margaret River and vintages in California and Bordeaux. Sue has judged over 50 Regional, National and International wine shows and is admired by her peers for her commitment and attention to detail.

The Wynn's Cab Shiraz Merlot is one of my favourite everyday drinking wines. It's light enough to enjoy on it's own but has more than enough body to compliment a good steak. What more do you want for $12, this wine is tremendous value and seems to maintain it's quality through each vintage.
Lovely depth of flavours Smooth finishDecanting benefits overall tasting experienceBargain price
Very easy drinking blended red from an excellent. What made it more palatable was the very good price. I' m no expert on wine but I do know what I like and this red from the Coonawarra region was excellent.
Wynns always produce a reliable drop. These are wines that I'll buy at the bottle shop on the way to a dinner party. This one is no exeption, so with a dozen from wine market I'll save eleven trips to the bottle shop as well as a few dollars - unless it all gets drunk at home!
Several bottles already gone as happy to share with friends!Smooth, rich fruity taste to drink now.
Representing very good value, this blend can be consumed now or cellared for years. Genuine Coonawarra characteristics with density, backbone and complexity along with substantial fruit. Quite possibly the cheapest entry to fair dinkum Coonawarra old school/new world experience.
great quality vg value
The Wynns reds are never less than good quality as is this one and with the added bonus of a discount voucher and free freight, my last purchase was a bargain.
Love my Wynns Reds.
One of my all time favourite drops of red. A very smooth, easy to drink red with deep flavours
Good drop, good price, delivered as requested, very pleasing transaction . Would buy more wine more often but site is difficult to access on iPhone out of city .
Always one of my favourite easy drinking wines, the 2011 didn't disappoint. Terrific wine at a great price. Tempted to buy another dozen.
wine is ok maybe I was expecting too much. I think rrp of 299 is a bit rich.
Beautifully balanced heavier red, suitable for barbecues and roast beef. The combination of grape varieties provides a complexity of flavours greatly enhanced when decantered an hour or so prior to consumption. Fantastic value Winemarket!
Another great wine from another great winery.
Got these as a gift for the hubby. He's so picky with his wines so I was pretty nervous. This is definitely a wine we'll be trying again.
