This NZ Pinot is made with Burgundy in mind. In other words it is not like a Shiraz but made with the wrong grape. Rather it respects the finest Burgundian tradition. Alexis Lechine wrote many year ago: "All too frequently "Burgundy" turns out to mean mean dark red wine that is sometimes too rough, sometimes too alcoholic. Such wines are not true Burgundies... Burgundies from the Cote d,Or are more often light, elegant, and subtile wines..." The light oak, freshness and reasonably pale colour make this wine traditional.
