Ooh La La... Fancy French Cider Special!

Whoohoo! That’s our cheer for Cider.

Cider mania is really taking hold in Australia with every other BBQ, picnic, wedding, barmitzvah or funeral featuring it and we’re excited to announce we've unearthed this tasty little French number.

From one of the spiritual homes of Cider, our French connection has us landing this delicious, flavoursome drop from premium producer Jean Loret, and from the best cider growing region in France, Normandy.

Coming in handy 750ml bottles, its the perfect size to throw in your fridge or esky and cool down on those extra hot summer days. And in the style of the more premium ciders of Normandy, it's sealed with a cork and wire- just like Champagne.

  • It's made in the traditional French "Doux" style- slightly sweet and only 2% alcohol - perfect for long summer days without suffering the long hot hangover the day after, and extra perfect for those of you who by personal or bodily preference just can't handle drink after drink without getting red faced.
  • Yes, the Swedes are the most famous for making the old Cider these days - but they're not the only ones who know how to ferment an apple. Like most things to do with enjoyment and simple luxuries, the French do a great Cider.. and after drinking a bit of this, we're definitely impressed with the French skills.
  • But with only a very limited number of cases available, you don't want to miss out. Stock up while you can.

    The Bottom Line

    • Premium imported French Cider for $8.83 a bottle!
    • Sourced from premium orchards in Normandy, France
    • Not your usual 330ml bottle size, these are 750ml big boy bottles - just like a bottle of wine. Great value!
    • Fantastic price for an imported Cider all the way from France!
    • It's a tad sweeter than some Aussie Ciders - try the traditional French style!

Very average cider. Not even close to the popular German, Swedish or Australian brews.

    Would not buy again.

If you like this sort of thing it's perfect for you. Otherwise, half a glass is musty sweetness too much; perhaps some cooking duties loom in this household.

    "Delicious French cider"

    by
Delicious, light, flavour filled cider filled with apples and bubbles and just perfect. Not very alcoholic (unfortunately; only 2 per cent by volume, I think) but it means it's extremely drinkable. Will buy more!

    "Jean Loret Cider"

    by
Great aromatics and full apple taste. Slight bubbles and needs to be very cold to appreciate full flavor.Low alcohol content is also appealing as it is it very rare to find a wine with such full flavor that one can enjoy without having to consider the legal issues.Well balanced and well worth considering.ps. The price asked is in my opinion a bargain

    "Wonderful flavour"

    by
This cider had a great dark amber colour and a wonderful flavour of ripe fruit with a bit of a sticky honey finish. Will definitely get this one again.

A cider on the very sweet side. Probably not one I'd buy again but certainly very easily drinkable.

Hot day, cold cider should be perfect match!. Disappointment on opening this cider when I found the aroma to be unpleasant. The taste did not improve my initial reaction. I could not drink it To my palate it was like a cross between bad beer and bad wine.

    "A taste of Normandy"

    by
This is a delicious cider from a region famous for its cider. The low alcohol content makes it a great summer lunchtime drink with some french bread, brie and paté without the need to sleep it off in the afternoon. Brings back memories of lazy summers touring Northern France. Would love to get hold of the brut version.
