Happy Birthday!

Yes, that's right! It's your birthday today. Ahh yes, we know it is unlikely to be your actually birthday, but we're going to play make believe with you anyway.

Unwrap this beauty of a deal. It's a delicious wine from one of the Clare Valley's best-known and most highly praised producers. James Halliday gave this wine 94 points and esteemed Master Of Wine, Rob Geddes gave it four out of five stars. Only issue is, there is nowhere to stick the labels on the bottle...

Yes, someone at the winery forgot to stick the labels on...

But, as we're good mates with the crew at Leasingham, we decided we would take the wines anyway. Better yet, without the label, we got them to give us some spectacular mates rates, and we're passing the savings onto you.

So you're going to get a rich, deeply flavoured red wine with plenty of life left in the tank. Halliday himself reckons this wine will cellar to 2020... if you're patient enough. It's a sophisticated wine that normally retails at $720 but with our special price, without the label, we're giving it away to you for $239 a case.

Throw the streamers, blow out your candles, cut the cake. Go on, gift yourself this deal.

Highlights  The 2007 vintage was one of the earliest vintages on record due to it being a warm, dry year with relatively low yields. However, the conditions produced red wines with powerful tannins; a hallmark of any good Shiraz. Selected parcels of fruit were harvested from both the Schobers and Provis Vineyards in the Clare Valley, and each component was made in small batches using traditional techniques. Fruit from the Provis vineyard provided density, while the Schobers vineyard contributed fragrance and mouth coating tannin. After harvest, the wine spent approximately eight days on skins, including a cold soak of 2‐3 days. The wine was open fermented in small batches before basket pressing and maturation in small French oak barrels. Post‐malolactic fermentation, the wine was racked out of oak every three months to allow natural clarification. This is a carefully hand‐made wine that reflects some of the best the Clare Valley has to offer.
