Z*D is short for Zero Dosage meaning this wine misses out on the liqueuring stage of the sparkling wine process and will thereby remain more vibrant and youthful than most. As well, sparkling wine, the great Champagnes included, has suffered from the vagaries of cork as much as other wines. Like the screw cap, the crown seal will bring a consistency in the glass to this wine. The crown seal is no newcomer to sparkling wine. It is used to cap these wines during the secondary fermentation - the part in the procedure when the bubbles are made. The difference here is the stainless steel is a positive part of the packaging and one that will retain its good looks. |
