Right across the Australian winemaking landscape are scattered truly special sites, magical places where all the vinous planets are aligned and real magic happens.
The Hanlin Hill vineyard in the Clare Valley is one of those places.
For three decades it has produced riesling fruit of uncommon intensity and purity, the best possible raw materials for the winemakers at Petaluma to shape into one of Australia's most iconic white wines.
The 2011 proves just how great this vineyard is. A difficult vintage in many places and for many varieties it's turned out to be a stunner for Clare Valley riesling and few are better than this.

| Winery Information |
Founded by Brian Croser in 1976 as part of Mission: Ultra-Premium Wine, Petaluma has since the beginning focussed on producing excellent wines from excellent vineyards. With their heart firmly planted in South Australia, they produce a distinguished riesling from the Clare (a tried-and-true combination), a top-hat worthy Adelaide Hills chardonnay (named after its vineyard, Piccadilly) plus some reds from the Coonawarra and Mount Barker for good measure. A 5-Star Halliday winery, Petaluma is a firm favourite for the wine wankers of this world.. it's hard to go wrong with a bottle of Petaluma. |
