Don’t forget to add GST…to your cellar
The dynamic duo at St Hallet have done it again. Stu ‘Batman’ Blackwell and Toby ‘Boy Wonder’ Barlow are two of the sharpest winemaking minds in the business and they can mould and shape Barossa reds like very few others. Which obviously doesn't leave too much brain space for marketing.
Who calls a wine GST?
Really??!!
Sure it's a blend of grenache, shiraz and the funky Portuguese variety touriga nacional, but just because the initials are there doesn't mean you have to use them. If you made a blend of cabernet, roussane, albarino and pinot, would you make an acronym out of them?
If you're going to give a wine the same name as a tax, why stop there? Why not just go the whole hog and call it ‘Syphillis’?
Anyway, despite the name it's a hell of a wine; richer than a tax–exile, smoother than a dodgy accountant and more complex than a bloody BAS statement.
With a price reduction from $32 down to just $14.99 delivered it's a whole lot better than a measly 10% too.
