Not to be mistaken with the American rock n roll singer, Freddy ‘Boom Boom’ Canon…
…this wine is in fact named after wine maker Simon (Sorby) Adams' great Uncle known as The Reverend Canon R.K. Sorby Adams, a minister for the Anglican Church. And while the Reverend may have approved of Freddy's smooth brand of rock n roll, he surely would have fell in love with this delightfully smooth wine.
It's a blend of Shiraz and a little Viognier, just enough of the white grape to lift the aromas and provide a little extra texture. The wine is silky, with soft mulberry and raspberry fruit flavours and just a hint of spice and soft tannin grip. An amazingly drinkable wine, it readily reveals its cool, single vineyard site in the high country of the Eden Valley, in the composure of this very premium wine.

Showcasing the unique flavours and intensity of old vine Shiraz, this individual vineyard wine has been handcrafted by Simon Adams to reflect the characters of the Eden Valley and the Sorby Adams Home Vineyard’s Terroir. The Sorby Adams Home Vineyard sits high on the eastern hills of the Barossa. First planted in 1932, it is home to some of the oldest vines in the Eden Valley region. Its gnarled twisted vines produce elegant and refined wines in the classic cool climate style.
This wine is named in honour of Simon Adams' Great Uncle. The Reverend Canon R.K. Sorby Adams who was Minister of the Anglican Church in Angaston. |
