Jonathon Hesketh is a pretty cluey fellow with winemaking in his blood and big picture vision in his head.
Rather than pitch his winemaking tent in just one region, Jono scours the globe for those special places where site and variety meet, go on a couple of really good dates and end up getting it on in the most beautiful of ways.
He's pretty keen on what the Adelaide Hills can do with shiraz and this wine shows why.
It's supple and silky, drenched in peppery spice and finishes with a fine fruit purity that would make a nun feel guilty.
We've come to expect pretty special wines from Jono Hesketh but this one's off the chain.

| Highlights |
Shiraz grapes for this wine come from the Paracombe subregion
at the northern end of the Adelaide Hills.
Fruit was harvested by hand before being de-stemmed and
crushed. Fermentation took place in small open fermenters
which were regularly hand-plunged and pumped over to
maximise skin contact with the juice and extract colour, flavour
and tannins.
Following fermentation, the wine was maturated in French oak
barriques for 3 1/2 years before final barrel selection, blending
and bottling. |

Hesketh Wines pay tribute to the idea of 'keeping it in the family' with winemakers Tom Hesketh and Jonathon Hesketh. They're also focussed on quality fruit and regionality, which is why you'll find them in Marlborough one day, Austria the next, and Barossa sometime after that.. but they still maintain their hallmark Hesketh style, highlighting the passion and skill gathered over the family's 90 years experience working with wine. |
