When we talk about New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at WineMarket we’re pretty good at jokes…
…about sheep and fish-and-chips and pronouncing the number ‘six’, but we often get a little lost for the funny stuff when we talk about their Pinot Noirs. The Kiwis have really stepped it up a notch with pinot noir, producing some of the more elegant premium red wines.
So when we were having a giggle about ‘shearing six sheep’ and were presented with a glass of this Ara Pathway Pinot Noir, we went from comedians to wine connoisseurs in seconds.
You see this highly-recommended red wine has a lot going for it. Grown in the higher vineyards of the Ara estate, the wine gets a subtler, softer feel. It still has loads of fruit flavour, but everything has been tucked in neatly, making a wine of huge, easy drinking appeal. But words like elegant, seamless, sophisticated and complex also come up easily around this wine.
We’ve also nutted out an absolute bargain. The ARA Pathway Pinot Noir would normally retail for $22 a bottle but in our choice deal it’s just $12.08 a bottle. One could even say that the regular retail price has been hit for sux.
