New Zealand wines have captured world wide attention with their outrageously zingy sauvignon blancs, but our vowel-strangling mates across the ditch are much more than one trick ponies.

They’re doing amazing things with pinot noir in places like Central Otago and Martinborough, kicking goals with Bordeaux varieties around Hawkes Bay and, heaven help us, even getting good results with shiraz.
