Your luck’s come in
Luck is an elusive thing, popping in an out of lives like some little bird that flies in through a half open window, flaps madly around the kitchen for a bit before crapping on the dining table and flying out again.
Some people even believe objects can bring us luck, like rabbit’s feet, shamrocks or little Irish midgets that bring you good fortune if you pat them three times on the head.
We’re a bit sceptical about all that stuff here at Winemarket but one thing we do know is a lucky horseshoe can bring about great good fortune when its on the label of a wine this good at a price this low.
Sure the marketing people at Hardys Tintara were probably talking about a particular style of vineyard row orientation when they come with the name for this cracking cabernet merlot blend but when you taste this you’ll know that our interpretation is spot one.
It’s drenched in beautiful black fruits, it fills the mouth with deep and brooding flavour and finishes with perfectly integrated, finely composed tannins.
At under ten bucks a bottle snapping up a case of this will make you as lucky as the man who one day wakes up to discover he’s started farting fivers.

The Tintara Chapter Series
In taming the rugged, steep slopes of his McLaren Vale property Tintara in
1861, founder Dr Alexander Kelly was presented with quite a challenge in
planting his vineyard.
A pioneer in viticulture, Dr Kelly chose to work with the terrain, planting
each vine to match the contours of the land, in terraced vineyard rows.
Such were the curves of these vineyards, they became known as
‘Horseshoe Rows’. |

A rich and complex amalgam of aromas of dark berries, chocolate, mint and sweet vanillin oak |
|
| Palate |
On the palate, the wine is generous and full bodied, showing sweet fruit flavours, rounded mouth feel – backed by soft tannins and fine acid. This is a delicious wine. |
|
| Highlights |
This is our first Cabernet Merlot wine to
be released under the Tintara label. A
blend of 70% Cabernet and 30% Merlot,
this sumptuous wine is a result of two
great varieties which arguably should be
blended together rather than produced
singularly. Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys the
warm climatic conditions of the McLaren
Vale district, producing wines of
distinguished varietal integrity with cassis,
mint and chocolate flavours. Likewise
with Merlot, which shows fruit cake spice,
chocolate and long flavoursome palates -
the blend brings out the best of each
variety, producing a wine of great flavour
and complexity. |
