Red wine for ol' Blue Eyes. It's Black Magic.
The other day this short, swarthy bloke rocks in and makes us an offer we couldn't refuse.
Says he knows a guy who knows a guy whose cousin can get his hands on a stash of high grade Western Australian shiraz at a price so sharp it was almost criminal.
With that he slipped his hand inside his big, black coat, pulled out a bottle and made us an offer we couldn't refuse.
The wine was the 2008 Petalon ‘Black Magic’ shiraz, a seriously good second label from the highly regarded Rosabrook winery in Margaret River.
We really liked the wine and it drinks beautifully but what really sealed the deal was the price.
$6.49…seriously cheap for a wine this good.
So we rolled over and bought the lot…and we didn't even need to have our kneecaps busted.
And with that this mysterious fellow wandered off into the night, singing softly to himself as he went…
‘That old black magic has me in its spell,
That old black magic that you weave so well
Those icy fingers up and down my spine,
The same old witchcraft when your eyes meet mine…’
