Every wine lover on the planet owes a debt of gratitude to the French.

France is where the textbook was written, where the idea of wine as natural art from was born.

It’s the French that gave us cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, pinot noir and grenache, sauvignon blanc, semillon and pinot gris. And France is home to the places that showed us how great those grapes can be, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace and the Rhone.

And best of all they gave us Champagne.

And that alone is enough to forgive them for their pop music.
