An easy drinking comfort wine
Some days at WineMarket we bend the rules a little. Ugg boots are acceptable footwear, you can wear your PJs to work and when we're feeling really generous we allow the odd employee to turn up with their doona. We call these days 'comfort days'.
So too we have comfort wines. The kind of wine that slips down without noticing, that tastes great, offers some premium quality, but doesn't break the bank. Penfold's Rawson's Retreat Chardonnay is our white comfort wine.
Easy drinking, juicy fruit flavours, a little bit of cedary oak for structure and a very long, refreshing finish. An absolute no-brainer. You can chill one of these down in 15 minutes, crack the top and away you go. At this price it's easy to get stuck into too; we've really gone to town on the discount.
Anyway, enjoy this wine as an anytime drop that's as happy accompanying a roast chook as keeping you occupied lazing around on a sunny day. BYO hammock, of course.

Penfolds Rawson's Retreat wines present classic single-varietal
and varietal blends in an approachable, fresh-flavoured style.
Drawing on Penfolds' extensive vineyard resources, the wines
offer a first-rate quality and value guarantee, presenting the
drinker with an affordable taste of everyday Australian wine at its
best.
Launched in 1995, Rawson's Retreat is the introductory level for
Penfolds wines. The name Rawson's Retreat is an informal
reference to the stone cottage built in 1845 by Dr Christopher
Rawson Penfold at the famous Magill vineyard in Adelaide,
where - with wife Mary and daughter Georgina - he had settled
the year before and was to soon establish the Penfolds winery,
which still operates today |

| Winery Information |
Penfolds is a household name. One of the most instantly recognisable brands in the galaxy, and the wines offer reliability, quality and distinction at their price points. From the earliest winemaking days Penfolds has figured prominently and few would argue just how important Penfolds' influence on Australia's winemaking psyche has been. Without the influence of Penfolds the modern Australian wine industry would look very different indeed. Sitting comfortably outside of fad and fashion, Penfolds has taken Australian wine to the world on a grand stage and forged a reputation for quality that is without peer. |
