Found in virtually every wine growing country on the planet, cabernet's ability to produce impressive wines across so many different sites is unrivalled. Cabernet sauvignon wines typically displays characters like blackcurrants, mulberries and mint with secondary characteristics like cedar, tobacco leaf and briar bush poking through. It is a grape well endowed with structural elements like natural grape acid and tannin that allow for longer term cellaring and is often blended with merlot to create softer, rounder styles. And nothing works better with a roast leg of lamb.
