There are few more hedonistic drinking pleasures in this world than a great bottle of moscato.
Softly sweet, vibrantly grapey, fresh and juicy – it's just the kind of wine that exists purely for fun and enjoyment. And in our search for ever greater moscato thrills we've seen few better than this cracker from one of the finest vineyards in the uber-cool Orange region. And sure we've heard the sniggers behind our backs as we reach for another glass but we've learned to ignore the snarls and smirks of the ignorant and tasteless. Anything that feels this good has to be ok in our eyes. Go on, you know you want to.
- 4.5 STAR James Halliday rated winery
- Refreshing Moscato - light bodied, beautiful blush pink, and with just a hint of fizz
- The wine you can drink with breakfast, just 6.5% alcohol (half a usual white wine, and less than half an average red)
- Avoid the 3pm hangover that comes with a champagne breakfast by drinking moscato instead!
- Rolling may be a new winery from an up-and-coming region, but check out what patrons are drinking in hip restaurants and you'll inevitably find a bottle of Rolling or Climbing on almost every table
- For the uninitiated, Moscato is a slightly sweet, fresh, light wine… usually rose in colour, with a little bit of spritz or fizz, and low in alcohol.

| Background |
Dry conditions during Spring & Summer led to small berry and bunch sizes. Heavy rainfall in
December & January refreshed canopy and soil moisture, enabling vines to continue a slow, even
ripening of the fruit. Warm temperatures in late January combined with small crop loads led to
accelerated ripening, with the earliest start to harvest ever. This wine is made from a blend of different grape varieties. Each parcel of fruit is harvested at its
optimum flavour ripeness, loaded into the press and the grapes then soaked on skins to extract
further flavour and colour from the skins. Once the bright pink colour is soaked out of the skins, the
grapes are then pressed off. The juice is clarified and then cool fermented to retain all the aromatic
fruit characters. The ferment is stopped halfway through – this results in a wine that is naturally light
in alcohol at 6.5%, balanced by residual fruit sweetness and semi sparkling. The different varieties
are then blended at this point to create a wine with real lift, fruit weight and balanced residual
sugar. |

| Nose |
A highly perfumed wine with notes of rose petal, musk and Turkish delight |
|
| Palate |
A refreshing wine – light in alcohol, but not light in flavour. The frizzante
nature of the wine gives the wine freshness and lift. As the ferment is stopped,
natural grape sugars remain in the wine, adding sweetness and body to the
wine. |

| Highlights |
The ultimate brunch; eggs Benedict or ricotta pancakes with maple glazed
apples. Alternatively try with Vietnamese fresh spring rolls |
