Barossa Brilliance In RED

It’s the inaugural release of what we reckon could be a goer!

It’s from the lads at Hare’s Chase, (whose top wine goes for a cool $130ish!) it’s Barossa to the core, and we’ve got a few of the last boxes in existence.

The Bottom Line

  • Ballsy Barossa from a crew who knows a thing or two
  • A label you won’t find on the shelves!
  • Hare’s Chase – a Barossa specialist
  • 94 Points – James Halliday

Tasting Notes

Barossa Valley
Deep Brick Red.
A touch of savoury background with hints of cedar frame some lovely mulberry fruit.
Cranberries and Mulberries are the dominant fruit flavours in this amalgam of spice and fruit. The wine has good structure which holds the soft rich middle palate in place.
Winery Information
2013 was the fifth driest growing season in the Barossa Valley over the last 100 years. Winter rainfall was well below average and so when the buds started to break and the vines needed water to grow there was very little available.

Notwithstanding this our vines withstood the drought and the occasional hot day, to produce some really good looking bunches of grapes. Admittedly the crop was not large, a natural consequence of such a dry year and the berries were not big but this set us up for some really intensely flavoured wines.

This first release coincides with our younger vineyards coming of age, they are now mature and balanced and are producing consistent quality. This has enabled us to make a wine that we are confident will satisfy devotees of Barossa Shiraz.
