Grant Burge Does It Again! Grab A Grigio...

Grant Burge has been a popular bloke around these parts since the very first WineMarketeer clicked through the (awful!) website way back in 2008. And his "Batch Series" has been impressing ever since!

The Bottom Line

  • 5 Star James Halliday-rated winery
  • From one of the true Barossa icons
  • We've sold through numerous vintages of this wine and it keeps flying out the door!
  • Finely balanced with creamy notes & crisp, dry acidity
  • Cellar must-have for everyday drinking

Pinot Grigio’s a variety that Burgey kept under wraps for a while, perfecting the final wine from his pristine vineyards before unleashing it on us.

And boy, he deserves every one of his five, shiny James Halliday rated stars for this wine.

Best yet, thrills come cheap.

Varieties

Palate
A palate of green pears, finely balanced with creamy notes provided by the time spent on lees coupled with dry, crisp acidity. This Pinot Grigio is designed for early drinking and is a perfect match for seafood dishes and light, Summer salads.
Highlights
The fruit was de-stemmed and the whole berries were gently pressed to reduce the amount of phenolics extracted and keep the delicate fruit flavours to the fore. Temperatures for fermentation were controlled and kept cool between 11 and 13 deg C, again to retain delicate flavours. The wine was left on lees for a month to add texture to the palate.
Winery Information
Grant Burge is located in the heart of the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Family owned (and proud of it), Grant Burge was formed in 1988 by fifth generation vigneron, winemaker and winery namesake Grant Burge. The Burge family has been in the Barossa since 1855, and Grant continues on the family tradition whilst bringing his winemaking techniques into the 21st century.

Really enjoyed this wine and have reordered a couple of times.

It is soft and crisp and well rounded.

Love Grant Burge Wines and this was the first time for this. Found some bottles in dozen better than others so far. Probably not the best overall.

Always pleased with the Grant Burge range of products. Yet to sample the latest delivery but would be surprised indeed if it didn't shape up to the standard of other cellared stock.

Cheers

This was undrinkable. Something had happened to it, the colour was off and the taste was just awful. Wouldn't even cook with it

Both wines covered under this order were excellent & draw a 4 star qualification . With few exceptions the wines purchased through WineMarket have lived up to expectations & I have no hesitation in recommending your group to any prospective client.

Service excellent.

Staff product knowledge outstanding.

Adding to my earlier review, the colour was awful and the palate very poor. It was nothing like a Pinot Grigio should be.

Like most Grant Burge wines it displays clean, crisp flavours that linger on the palate Great for Summer drinking. I believe that the pinkyness associated with this wine type can be lessened which would make it more attractive.

Average value for money.

This is my 6th dozen of this very drinkable wine. Your system works faultlessly and the price is spot on particular when I used a $25.00 voucher. Keep it up.

I think this is about 12th dozen that I have bought from WineMarket and it never fails to please. It has the slight sharpness of a Pinot Grigio but is very smooth on the palate. Grant Burge always offer quality wine and Wine Market offer an excellent price so it's a winning combination all around.

A lovely Pinot Grigio from a excellent maker of wine. I have bought, over the last 12 months, at least 10 dozen of this wine at a very good price. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed .
